Uniboard, Corp., is a Connecticut-based company with U.S. marketing centers in Jericho, VT., New Boston NH, and Corvallis, OR. Its primary business is to promote the sport known as Teleboarding.
The first Teleboard® (US patent issued 1998, International patents pending) was designed and built by Martin Fey. It was trialed in secret by Martin and his brother, Erik, in 1995. The Fey brothers and a mutual friend, Marie Franzino, formed Uniboard, Inc., to further develop, produce and market the product.
They began producing hand-made boards in a barn owned by Franzino. The company now offers cap construction, full-wood-core Teleboards® in three sizes -- 168cm, 181cm and 191cm.
The Teleboard® is a serious recreation device designed for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Its unique ride and versatility, and the ease of learning the techniques, typically stun veteran skiers and snowboarders. Those who have spent time on the Teleboard® can attest to its advantages over skis and snowboards -- the incredible lightness, the carving power a rider can produce with light-weight telemark boots, the astonishing turning ability and high-speed stability, the way it crashes through bumps and crud and the way it floats through powder. Teleboard® provides maximum speed and control without cumbersome equipment.
The word "Teleboarder" is fast becoming part of the skiing lexicon in the US and abroad. The ski industry is beginning to see its potential for providing yet another draw to the mountains.
Uniboard Corp's remarkable effort has been accomplished with the financial backing of small investors and Yankee ingenuity and determination. For information on the company please call (860) 428-5979.
